This morning, four Korean teachers from Wanggokdong Middle School visited Ansan Mosque. They are Kim Min, Kim Woo-young, Park Su-hyeon and Kim Eun-bin. The teachers will be teaching their students about different religions and cultures. Believing that to teach children, one must first learn oneself, they came to the mosque. They wanted to know how Muslims pray and what their holy book is like.

The imam of the mosque recited a portion of the Holy Quran for them. He then asked them to read the translation of Surah Maryam, and Kim Min read it aloud beautifully. When he showed them several more verses of the Quran about Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, they read them on their own. In a short time, they gained a basic understanding of Islam.

As they were leaving, light refreshments were served. They were also given a book presenting the Islamic belief about Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, as a gift. The teachers left very happy. It is hoped that they will present Islam accurately to their students.

One in every four people in the world is a Muslim. Yet despite there being two billion Muslims, people in Japan, Korea and some other regions know almost nothing about Islam. Whatever the rate at which people there embrace Islam, it is essential to spread an accurate understanding of Islam widely. Even without becoming Muslim, people in the modern world can benefit from the many ethics and beauties of Islam.

But how much are Muslims contributing in this regard? That is now the big question.
